Fixing the drafts in my house before winter starts

The heating and cooling technician used weather stripping on all the windows and doors to make sure there wasn’t any air leaking in or out

I saved a lot of money by purchasing an old house. I knew that it would need a lot of work, but the savings in the overall price were enough to pay for any remodeling work. If I had been raised by a father who has been a carpenter’s whole life, I wouldn’t have bit off a project like this. My grandfather was a carpenter as well, so that skill runs in the family. I was able to do a lot of the renovation work on this house myself. However, I’ll admit there were a lot of areas where I needed to call in outside help. One of those areas was the roof. I never got any roofing experience in my past and I didn’t want to do this the wrong way as well. Another area that I’m not any good at in my honest opinion is heating and cooling. I’ve watched air conditioners get installed over the years, but not nearly enough to know how to do it on my own. I had the heating and cooling system installed by a local HVAC dealer. Recently however, I had to call that same HVAC company over to my house to help me with sealing the place for cold drafts before winter starts. The heating and cooling technician used weather stripping on all the windows and doors to make sure there wasn’t any air leaking in or out. We also had to check the attic to make sure it was properly sealed in the right places. Hopefully my heating bill will be a little bit lower this year compared to the last.
