I was unsure about having an HVAC worker come to my home.
I was a single mother with a four-year-old kid.
She was super friendly plus saw no danger in anything. I distraught that if someone came to the house, she would let them in. Although I kept the door locked, I still anxious. I was worrying even more when I heard the news last week. There were people going around posing as HVAC worker plus robbing the people blind. While one HVAC worker showed you a fake ID badge, another was going through the back door. I needed to make sure all my doors were locked at all times, plus my child needed to believe she shouldn’t be opening the door to anyone. Even if it was her Grandma, she had to wait for me to unlock the door. She wasn’t sure why I had to be so mean, but she agreed. When the HVAC worker arrived, I asked for him to hand me her ID badge through the crack in the door. I took the badge inside plus called the HVAC business. I verified who she was before I let him in the house. I locked the door behind him, plus she headed to the basement. When Dad came to visit later that afternoon, my child stood by the door plus kept asking who it was. She was playing with Dad plus asked her to show her ID badge to him before she came in. I chased him away from the door plus opened it to see a puzzled look on my mom’s face.
