When I was a kid we had a family dog.
I wasn’t too impressed by him or interested.
When I got older and home of my own, I said no pets. I then encountered a stray cat and fell in love. I adore cats. They are so cool. I love the way they move, their cool eyes, how they jump and pounce and that they are very independent. Since my cat was a former stray, he is pretty needy. I also have nothing else to baby other than him. My house is quite the setup for a cat. I have multiple scratch posts in and outside of my house for him. I fashioned a cat door in my window so he can come and go as he pleases. I also changed my HVAC equipment for him. I Didn’t like the central HVAC unit anyway. In my area I hardly used the cooling function. I also didn’t like the sound the heater made when it clicked on and off. I was preparing to redo my flooring anyway as well. When I noticed my cat got freaked out anytime the heater turned on and rumbled, I knew it had to go. I replaced all the ugly tile in the house with soft carpet. I also added radiant heating underneath it. So the rugs are soft and warm. The heating system is silent in operation and doesn’t stir up dust. My cat doesn’t hear it turn on but notices the warm feeling. He will frequently lay on the rug to take a nap due to its heat.
