This is the time of year when most of us reflect on our lives and on the past year, as we look forward to the new year to come.
I try to actually have this positive attitude all year long without waiting until the end of the year.
This year, though, I have discovered something that I always take for granted but now I am keenly aware that I am grateful for. As we enter this cold spell, I am thankful for good Heating. I live in a rented townhouse, and I am very fortunate in that my landlord has chosen not to increase the rent in several years. In fact, I had a roommate at one time, who passed away, and at that time my landlord reduced the rent. Anyway, it is not every landlord who makes sure that the HVAC systems in their rental unit are top-notch. Now I will admit that this is not the most expensive heating and cooling system in the world. In fact, I believe it is on the less expensive side as far as HVAC systems go. Nonetheless, my landlord does listen to me and if there is a problem with the AC or the heater, he will take immediate measures to make sure that the HVAC company is called and any repairs that are necessary are made. I am extremely thankful for having a roof over my head and for that roof having a good HVAC system. Especially now, when the thermostat reads in the twenties in the middle of the day, I am thankful for good Heating.
