Because of the sub zero hot & cold temperatures outside, Oscar usually wears a knitted jacket. She prefers her jackets & does not prefer to take them off. She tends to shiver, even inside the house. I set the temperature control a little higher for the sake of the dog’s comfort. All of us have a gas fireplace to supplement heat in the kitchen. I’ve sited Oscar’s bed directly in front of the fireplace. She prefers to sleep on her little dog bed with the heat from the fireplace blasting on him. Her fur becomes entirely warm to the touch. When she comes in from the outside with snow clinging to her paws & settles in front of the heater, the whole kitchen aromas of wet dog. I am just cheerful that our dog is comfortable. The Winter time weather tends to last for more than half of the year & is downright brutal… Keeping a warm loft is honestly a challenge.
