My husband and I agree that when our current HVAC unit goes we are going to do ductless HVAC.
Currently the indoor air handler takes up a lot of closet space.
I can hardly fit my bucket, mop and broom in there. It would be ideal to hang winter coats, boots and other cleaning supplies in there. Right now it is a pointless space. With ductless HVAC, the indoor units would be mounted on the walls in each bedroom. It would free up quite a bit of space. My husband and I both work from home too. Having our own separate heating and cooling units in our offices would be great. We also don’t share a bedroom due to vastly different sleeping habits. My husband really likes to be cold and I don’t. He would totally crank the air conditioner every night and have an overhead fan going. For me I am dying of heat the moment the fall season arrives. I would always turn off the AC when my husband was out of the house. With ductless HVAC, we have zone control. My husband could have AC in his room while I have heating. During the workday the HVAC units in our offices would be the only ones going. Not only would we be totally comfortable, but it would save energy not providing HVAC to unused spaces. Right now our central HVAC unit is around 17 years old. We are hoping that within the next three years we can make the necessary update. I can’t wait to have a closet and a better HVAC setting in my room.
