The degree of cold varies, as I have discovered.
On cold nights, I wear a thick sweater under a light coat in my beach town, and on cold nights up on the mountain, I wear heavy clothing under a large ski jacket and gloves. I still have a cold nose due to spending too much time outside today. Although it was very cold today, I enjoyed sledding down the mountain. We turned on the space heaters in each room and lit the fireplace in response to the temperature reading on the thermometer. With the fireplace burning and the space heaters on in all rooms, the cabin has reached a temperature of 30 degrees Fahrenheit. We are currently wearing our ski jackets until the temperature reaches 55 degrees. We should be warm within an hour or two. Although I enjoy the cold weather, it is very expensive to use central heating and fires all the time. In my beach town, I do not run the heat very often unless it is extremely cold. It is extremely cold at night in our mountain cabin, but our furnace can heat up the home within 15 minutes. I’ll finish my HVAC technology articles after I grab a cup of tea.
