We always keep it super cold in our house, even in the winter.
We just don’t ever turn the heating system up very high because we try to save money on our heating bills during the winter.
Our old electric furnace really isn’t good at energy efficiency at all. As a matter of fact, I am pretty sure that they installed this ancient old furnace at the same time that they built this house. I think that was probably somewhere around the middle of the last century. This house is pretty old, and the antique furnace came with it when we purchased it about five years ago. At first, we thought that we would just go ahead and change out the old HVAC system for a new one when we first moved in. But then life happened and we ended up with all kinds of bills for other things. If you’re a homeowner, then you definitely know how that kind of thing goes! It’s always something when it comes to fixing things here and there around the house. Anyway, weeks turned into months and then months turned into years and now we still have the same old furnace that we had on the day that we moved in. We still really need a new furnace, because we try not to use this one very much at all since it’s so expensive to run. That’s why everyone says that our house is too cold! I guess I wouldn’t mind heating it up a little bit more if it didn’t cost us a fortune to do so!
