My friend Carrie is a neat freak.
- She has always been like this ever since I met her in college.
She was my roommate and I had to have everything clean and in its place or she would literally be uncomfortable in our room. If I ate a bowl of cereal, I couldn’t just leave it on my desk until I was ready to clean it. She insisted that I cleaned the bowl as soon as I was done. Of course, this drove me nuts, but eventually, I grew to accept her obsession. Now that we are adults, nothing has changed and although I love her, I am glad that I don’t have to share the same space with her. Her husband can’t sit and eat on the sofa if he wanted to. Instead, he has to sit at the dining room table or go to his man cave. I think if he didn’t have his man cave, Carrie would drive him crazy. Anyway, Carrie was telling me that she gets her A/C ducts cleaned once per year. And when she told me this, I was shocked because I have never gotten my A/C ducts cleaned. I decided not to share that information with her because the last thing I wanted was a lecture about the importance of cleaning my A/C ducts. And from what I know, it is not necessary to clean the A/C ducts unless there is excess buildup of debris or mold. And I can’t imagine that Carrie’s house has any of that in it. If she wants to spend her money cleaning her A/C ducts, then I am ok with that as long as it brings her the peace of mind that she is seeking.
