I was working on a oil furnace last week, and the owner of the house sat on the steps enjoying myself and others the entire time.
She kept telling me, on the double, love she was a staff sergeant working with her modern recruits, but i wanted to tell him to stuff her ‘on the double’, despite the fact that I was the Heating and Air Conditioning professional and she was paying me. I was sure that if I said something to him, she would call the Heating and Air Conditioning corporation and I would be in a lot of trouble. I held my temper and continued working on the oil furnace, however when I checked the air filter, I almost laughed out loud. I asked the owner when she last changed the air filter in the oil furnace? She looked taken aback and told myself and others she changed it respectfully. I showed him the air filter and said I thought it was time to have the air duct cleaned if there was this much dirt in a month. It was a laugh out loud moment when she said she changed it respectfully, but she didn’t say they changed the air filter bi-weekly. It was just 3 people in the house, and she didn’t guess it was necessary to change the air filter once a month. I still thought it would be a good idea if the people I was with and I were to call the Heating and Air Conditioning corporation and have the air duct cleaned, even if she had the air filter changed every numerous weeks, there shouldn’t be this much dirt in the air filter. She agreed with myself and others and headed upstairs to make the call to the Heating and Air Conditioning business.
