A few weeks back, I returned to my beach apartment from a trip that I had taken during the holiday. During my trip, I was honestly fine, and had an attractive time with my good buddies and family. However, a day after returning back to my place, my throat began to tickle as if I were coming down with a cold. In the beginning, I didn’t pay too much attention to it because it’s the frigid season and I usually get a sore throat, it’s the particular time of year that I am guaranteed to catch a cold. Well, my sore throat lasted for a few afternoons, and I got a bit of the sniffles, however besides that, nothing felt out of the norm for me. I easily mentioned this to my mom, and she said that it could be the air quality in my place. I was gone for practically 2 weeks and my place was locked up and I had the control unit set to 65 degrees. I am not sure if the system cycled on while I was gone. I have never been concerned about the air quality in my home, however now that my mom brought that to my attention, I am wondering if that was the cause of my sore throat. After doing research, I discovered that bad indoor air quality can lead to cold-like or allergy-like symptoms that include an itchy throat and runny nose. Without a proper air purifier, I can’t confirm or deny if the air quality in my beach property is poor, and now that my symptoms are gone, I am not convinced that they resulted from bad indoor air quality. My mom offered to buy me a good air purifier, but I told her to hold off on that because I think my air quality is alright.
