Energy-saving tips for your air conditioner this summer

I manage a blog that offers tips, reputable solutions and other items for first-time home buyers.

Buying your first home can be an exciting process, but it can also be intimidating since there are so many things to take into consideration.

I like to make things straight-forward for other people. My most popular blog post is about tips for saving energy with air conditioners and furnaces. Managing your home HVAC system can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be! If the home you buy is in a warm climate, summers can be difficult to navigate for your air conditioner. One of my favorite energy-saving tips is to block the sun from coming into your home. Even though the sun is amazing in the warm months, it can definitely heat up your house and cause your air conditioner to overwork. Keeping blinds, curtains, and drapes closed during the day, in the summer, will cause your air conditioner to thank you. Another useful tip that everyone should consider is to scrub your air filters. If you have pets, clean them often to scrub out pet hair, because clogged air filters can increase your energy bill more than you would think. Pets tend to shed more as warmer months approach. In addition to that post, I have written other blogs about choosing a home with a pool, how to find a good landscaper, and even how to get along with less-than-favorable neighbors!
