Ductwork cleaning kicks off spring cleaning

I just hung up the phone with our local HVAC company.

This is something I do at the end of February for the last 5 years. I once saw dirt and dust particles actually coming out of the HVAC air vents and that’s how I found ductwork cleaning. Literally, I saw icky stuff come flying right out of the air ducts and then float gently down to the floor as though a feather. This was one of the more shocking things I’ve seen inside the central air conditioning of my own home. And it was troubling as well. I was afraid something had gone very wrong with the HVAC equipment and called the HVAC company in a panic. They assured me that they had the cure to what was wrong. I simply needed ductwork cleaning followed by ductwork resealing. That first visit from the HVAC professionals to do the ductwork cleaning had such an impact on the indoor air quality. It was so impressive and the HVAC technicians were so great that I’ve made that the basis for spring cleaning. My mom was big into making spring cleaning an annual family event. And now, I’m carrying on that same tradition. Where I live, we get an early spring which means the air conditioning is going to be needed in earnest by April. So I like to get the ductwork cleaning scheduled now. This way, my husband and I can take a Friday or a Monday off in order to spend a long weekend with the kids deep cleaning the house. I actually look forward to this particular rite of Spring a lot. There’s nothing like ductwork cleaning and then a deep clean on the house to set you up for a great Spring and Summer.
