Still, I have had a broken arm for numerous weeks and I am stuck on light duty until everything heals
I was toiling on an air duct installation job when a child asked me to help her get her pet out of a tree. I suppose it sounds entirely odd and a lot like a scene from a TV show from the 1950s, however that is precisely what happened. I already had a ladder out on the roof. I guess that is why the little girl decided to ask me for help. I could see the pet and the tree and the pet did seem to be scared. I climbed up the ladder to retrieve the cat… She came directly to me with no problem at all. As I started moving down the ladder, the pet became entirely scared and started to claw at my face and my eyes. I dropped the pet and fell backwards. I broke my arm when it got stuck between 2 ladder rungs. It was dislocated and I needed surgery, but that was the last time that I diagnosed any type of heating or cooling project. Everyone in the office laughs at me and calls me a hero for helping the child with her cat. I suppose they think it’s amusing and I suppose the irony of the situation is somewhat amusing. Still, I have had a broken arm for numerous weeks and I am stuck on light duty until everything heals. I cannot work on any HVAC duct installation jobs. All I can do is sit in the office and answer telephone calls sort of like an Executive Administrative Assistant. Happily the boss has to pay me the same amount of money for toiling in the office, because the accident happened on the job.
